Rules for all Tournaments

Registration

  • We reserve the right to refuse any applications without giving a specific reason.
  • Applications must be made at least 2 days before the start date of a tournament.
  • Applicants must have a minimum of 200 rating and an account age of at least 1 year on FlyOrDie.com 8ball Pool at the time of application.
  • You will receive an email if your application has been successful.
  • Please make sure to select which timeframe suits you best to play your matches, we will try and work with these times when organising matches
  • You must use your "main" FlyorDie username. Matches are played in the Unrated room so you don't need to worry about your current rating being affected by the result of any of the matches.

Tournament Draw

  • The top 8 rated players from the flyordie.com 8ball pool website will be seeded in the draw process. These players will be placed into a randomising wheel and drawn one at a time into the brackets.
  • After the 8 seeded players have been placed into the brackets, the remaining players will be drawn at random from a second wheel and placed into the brackets from top left to bottom right.

Arranging Matches

  • Match time slots will be chosen by FodLive, you will be able to select which slots suit you best to play your games. We will work with your opponent to arrange a time slot that suits both players.
  • If a player can not agree to a time slot we will re-arrange another time that suits. In the event that the 2 players can not agree a time, we will select a time for them.
  • If a player is late or does not show for a match at the agreed time, they will received a no-show point. If a player receives 2 no-show points they will forfeit the match.

Forfeited Matches

  • If a player forfeits a match for any reason by either a no-show or by pulling out in any game apart from the Final, their opponent will get a bye to the next round.
  • If a player forfeits a match for any reason by either a no-show or by pulling out in Final, the player they defeated in their semi-final match will take their place in the Final.

Playing Matches

  • Matches are to be played in the "Unrated Room".
  • Pro Rules are not to be used. Standard game format is to be used.
  • Do not start your match until the user "FOD-Live" is in the "Unrated Room" and tells you to start the match.
  • Do not use the "Best of" format for matches, please use the standard 1 game at a time format as the later games may have Best of formats that are not supported by FOD.
  • Malicious behaviour will not be tolerated. This includes verbal abuse and un-sportsmanlike behaviour such as slow play and any other similar actions. FOD-Live reserves the right to remove a player from the tournament for abusing these rules.
  • When a match is finished, FOD-Live will record the result and update the website. You do not need to do anything after the match is over.

Disconnections

  • If a player disconnects during the middle of a game, they will forfeit the game they were on. For example if the score is 3-2 and the winning player disconnects in game 6, the score will be 3-3 when the player returns.
  • Players will not forfeit a game if they disconnect in-between games while the pre-game countdown timer is still ticking.
  • If a player disconnects, they have 15 minutes to return to the game. If they do not return to the game within 15 minutes, they will forfeit the entire match.
